
New Products Center Box
Zen Cart includes a variety of marketing tools for your products and one of these is the center box New Products. This box highlights to your customers the products you have recently added to your Online Catalog. Depending on your Admin settings, the New Products Center Box is shown on several pages, including Home Page, New Products page, All-Products Page and the Shopping Cart Page (if empty).
How new are your New Products?
Firstly, you will need to set just what determines a ‘New’ product in Zen Cart. In a default installation, all products are included in the New Products box. To update this setting:
Admin > Configuration > Maximum Values > New Product Listing – Limited to …
and select from one of the available options:
0= All Products
1= Current Month
7= 7 Days
14= 14 Days
30= 30 Days
60= 60 Days
90= 90 Days
120= 120 Days
The heading of the New Products Center Box will always include the current Month (for example ‘New Products for October’) regardless of the setting above. Within a category, the New Products Center Box heading will include the Category Name.
Display New Products
Then, you will need to set where you wish the New Products Center Box to be displayed.
Admin > Configuration > Index Listing
- Show New Products on Main Page
- Show New Products on Main Page – Category with SubCategories
- Show New Products on Main Page – Errors and Missing Products Page
- Show New Products – below Product Listing
Set the order in which you want the New Products Center Box to be displayed. Or, if you wish to disable (hide) the New Products Center Box, set the value to 0.
To set the New Products Center Box to be displayed on the Shopping Cart Page (if there are no products added)
Admin > Configuration > Stock > Show New Products on empty Shopping Cart Page
Set this value for the order in which you want the New Products Center Box to be displayed. Or, if you wish to disable (hide) the New Products Center Box on the empty Shopping Cart Page , set this value to 0.
