The Breadcrumb Navigation in Zen Cart shows visitors where they are in your store and also provides quick links to return to the category or sub-category level.

In this example, we can see that the DVD we are viewing is in the Drama section of the DVD Movies category.  The Breadcrumb Navigation gives us one-click access to either Home, DVD Movies or Drama.

There are three customisations that you may wish to implement for your Zen Cart store:

1. Turn off (or on) the Breadcrumb Navigation

   This is a global change and will affect all pages.  See How to turn off Zen Cart Breadcrumb Navigation.

2. Remove Breadcrumb Navigation from Zen Cart Home Page Only

   As Home is the only section of the Breadcrumb Navigation that is displayed on the Home page it can look a little out of place.  If you want to display the Breadcrumb Navigation on all pages except the home page see Removing Breadcrumb Navigation from Zen Cart Home Page Only.

3. Modify the Zen Cart Breadcrumb Navigation to remove ‘Home’

   Finally, you may wish to remove the Home level from the Breadcrumb Navigation.  In our example above, the Breadcrumb would then read DVD Movies :: Drama :: Courage Under Fire Linked.  This is a global change and will affect the Breadcrumb Navigation on all pages that it is displayed on.  See Modifying the Zen Cart Breadcrumb Navigation to remove Home.
