To disable the Site Map page in your Zen Cart store:

1. Log in to your Zen Cart store Admin
2. From the Configuration menu, select Define Page Status.
   
3. Select Define Site Map Status and click the Edit button.
    
4. There are four options available to set the Site Map Status.  These are:
   
   

   0 = Link ON, Define Text OFF	A link to the Site Map is displayed in the Information (or More Information) sidebox.  The define pages editor text is not included on the Site Map page.
   1 = Link ON, Define Text ON	A link to the Site Map is displayed in the Information (or More Information) sidebox.  The define pages editor text is included on the Site Map page.
   2 = Link OFF, Define Text ON	A link to the Site Map is not displayed in the Information (or More Information) sidebox.  The define pages editor text is included on the Site Map page.
   3 = Link OFF, Define Text OFF	A link to the Site Map is not displayed in the Information (or More Information) sidebox.  The define pages editor text is not included on the Site Map page.

   Select your preferred option  and click the Update button.  In this example we are turning off the Site Map page and so will select option 3.
   

5. You will also need to remember to remove any other links you have to the Site Map page, in the footer for example.

The page parse time information sits outside of the ‘main wrapper’ in the footer of each page.

To enable or disable the display of the page parse time information:

1. Log in to your Zen Cart store Admin
2. From the Configuration menu, select Logging.
   
3. Select the Display The Page Parse Time line and then click the Edit button.
   
4. Select True if you want the Page Parse Time information displayed on each page of your Zen Cart store or False to turn off the display.

In a default installation of Zen Cart, the IP Footer Display looks like this:

To turn off the ‘Your IP Address’ display in the footer of Zen Cart:

1. Log in to your Zen Cart store Admin
2. From the Configuration menu, select Layout Settings.
   
3. Select Footer – Show IP Address status and then click on the Edit button.
   
4. Select 0 (Off) and the click on the Update button.
   

The customer’s IP address will still be logged as part of the order and payment processes.  This change affects the footer display only.

To reset the current order ID:

1. Log in to your Zen Cart store Admin
2. From the Tools menu, select Store Manager.
   
3. As shown, you will need to enter the last Order ID used in the Old Order ID field.  You may need to create a test order first so that you have the correct value to enter here.

   Enter a number one less than the one you wish to be your next Order ID in the New Order ID field.

   In this example, I have used 5211.
   

4. The next Order ID will be in one more than the number you entered in the New Order ID field.

1. Log in to your Zen Cart store Admin
2. From the Catalog menu, select Categories/Products.
3. Click through to the category you wish to create a sub-category within.  In this example, I have selected Hardware by clicking either on the green Edit icon or on the category name.
4. Click on the New Category button. Note: A category cannot contain both products and sub-categories.  You will not see the New Category button if the category already contains products.  Likewise, for a category that contains sub-categories, the New Product button will not be available.
   
5. Enter a name for the category in the Category Name field.
6. Enter a description in the Category Description field.
7. Either select an image by using the Browse button or type an image name (that has already been FTP’d to your server) in the filename box.
8. If you would like your categories to appear in a specific order, enter a number in the Sort Order field.
9. Click the Save button to create the new sub-category.

Remove Tell-a-Friend from Product Information pages

On each Product Information page, by default the tell a friend about us button is displayed.  To remove this, follow the steps below.

1. Log in to your Zen Cart store Admin
2. From the Catalog menu, select Product Types.
   
3. Select the product type you wish to customise.  This will be Products General in most cases.
4. Click the Edit Layout button.
   
5. Select Show Product Tell A Friend Button and click the Edit button.
   
6. Select False from the drop down menu and then click Update to save your selection. 
      

Remove Tell-a-Friend Sidebox

The Tell-a-Friend Sidebox is displayed on each product information page.  To turn off the display of the Tell-a-Friend Sidebox, follow the steps below.

1. Log in to your Zen Cart store Admin
2. From the Tools menu, select Layout Box Controller.
   
3. Select the Edit icon for the Reviews sidebox. 
    
4. In the Edit Box section, select the settings as shown here and then click Update to save your settings.

1.  Remove Reviews from Product Information pages

On each Product Information page, by default either a button for read the reviews (if one or more reviews exist for that product) or write a review (if there are no reviews for that product) will be displayed.  To remove the display of these buttons, follow the steps below.

1. Log in to your Zen Cart store Admin
2. From the Catalog menu, select Product Types.
   
3. Select the product type you wish to customise.  This will be Products General in most cases.
4. Click the Edit Layout button.
   
5. Select Show Product Reviews Button and click the Edit button.
6. Select False from the drop down menu and then click Update to save your selection.
   
7. Select Show Product Reviews Count and click the Edit button.
8. Select False from the drop down menu and then click Update to save your selection.

2.  Remove Reviews Sidebox

The Reviews Sidebox displays random reviews and also includes a link to the Reviews page.  To turn off the display of the Reviews Sidebox, follow the steps below.

1. Log in to your Zen Cart store Admin
2. From the Tools menu, select Layout Box Controller.
   
3. Select the Edit icon for the Reviews sidebox.
   
4. In the Edit Box section, select the settings as shown here and then click Update to save your settings.
   

3.  Remove Reviews from Sitemap page

The Sitemap page will still refer to the Reviews page, even if you are not using the Reviews feature.  To remove this reference, follow the steps below.

1. Open the tpl_site_map_default.php file located in the /includes/templates/template_default/templates/ directory.
2. Find this section of code:

   <li><?php echo '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_REVIEWS) . '">' . PAGE_REVIEWS . '</a>'; ?></li>

3. and remove or comment out this line.
4. Save the modified tpl_site_map_default.php file to your override folder.  This will be /includes/templates/CUSTOM/templates/ where CUSTOM represents the name of your current template folder.

4.  Remove Reviews from Welcome Email

1. Open the create_account.php file located in the /includes/languages/english/ directory.
2. Find this section of code:

'<li><strong>Permanent Cart</strong> - Any products added to your online cart remain there until you remove them, or check them out.' . "\n\n" . 3. and modify to remove the reference to product reviews:

The EZ Pages can be linked from the EZ Pages Header Menu, EZ Pages Sidebox Menu, EZ Pages Footer Menu and the EZ Pages Table of Contents.  In the main footer screenshot above, the EZ Pages Footer Menu looks like this:

Select the EZ Pages that you would like to appear in the EZ Pages Footer Menu and set the preferred sort order.

IP Address Display

The footer can display the IP address of your store’s visitors.  In the main footer screenshot above, the IP Footer Display looks like this:

The Site Copyright Display is made up of Copyright © <current year> <store name>. Powered by Zen Cart.  In the main footer screenshot above, the Site Copyright Display looks like this:

The <current year> and the <store name> and link are updated automatically in Zen Cart.  It is considered common courtesy to leave “Powered by Zen Cart" intact as it assists in advertising the Zen Cart project that is allowing you to create your new store and hopefully make money from it.

If you want your shop listed in the zen-cart.com Zen Showcase, you must leave "Powered by Zen Cart" in the footer for Identification.

Parse Time Display

The Parse Time Display is made up of Parse Time – Number of Queries – Query Time. The Parse Time Display can be useful when troubleshooting comments that your store pages are slow to load, however it is generally set not to display for general store operation.  In the main footer screenshot above, the Parse Time Display looks like this:
